So...  I bought tickets for Wicked yesterday.  So exciting!  I've never seen it because I've always missed it when it's been in Pittsburgh before.  Since it's in the fall, I knew I had to pick out tickets very carefully.  I cross-referenced show times with the WVU Football schedule to make sure I didn't pick a show on a home game Saturday.  And since weeknights in September do not work at all for me because it's super busy audit time at work, that narrowed it down to about 7 shows.  I found one that worked out perfectly because I had to be in Pittsburgh the next day for a doctor appointment anyway.  So spending the night would be easy and super fun, right?

Fast forward to today when I start looking at hotels downtown and wonder why everything is $300 to $400 a night...  The Steelers are playing at home that weekend!

I wonder if it's too late to switch tickets? 

And I Feel: grumpy

So, I don't post about sports a whole lot. Mostly because Mountaineer games are usually so stressful that I can't even handle it. Close games make me nervous because they hardly ever turn out in our favor. But somehow this year the men's basketball team has been winning and winning big. It all started a few weeks ago with their first Big East Championship in school history. Last night, they defeated Kentucky and are in the Final Four for the first time since the days of Jerry West. It's actually pretty crazy and amazing that we've made it this far. Winning our first national title is actually a possibility! And it's scary for me to even type that because I feel like I'll jinx it somehow. But I've really enjoyed this crazy ride and hope that it continues!

Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!!!!!

I haven't been around for ages. Again. Some days I really think I should post, and other days I feel like there's no point in even trying to keep up with LJ anymore since I've already been away for what feels like forever. But really, I'm still reading my friends list every day because I care about what's going on with all of you. And even though I barely comment on anything anymore, I do want to try to be better about that. Because I don't want to lose touch with all of you anymore than I already have.

I'm just picking a really bad time of year to start being better about that... :) Things have been kinda crazy for the last couple months or so and with the holidays coming up, I don't think it's slowing down anytime soon.

Christmas is sneaking up on me way too fast. Between being away for Thanksgiving and then the Nashville trip right after, there hasn't been a whole lot of time for shopping or decorating. It doesn't help that we have no weekends to do anything. Last Saturday was taken up by WVU's last home football game of the season. Sunday we were able to do a little bit. This weekend we're going over to the DC area to visit friends and my sister-in-law. Next weekend, there's a WVU basketball game and then a friend's birthday party. And then Christmas is pretty much here! I would realllly like to do some baking, so hopefully I can squeeze that in there somewhere.</div>

Just got back from vacation on Sunday night, so I have a ton of catching up to do.  It was a much needed break with all the craziness that's happened this past month.  I'm hoping to get around to posting about it very soon, with pictures even!  Hope all is going well with all of you!

My mom had two stents put in yesterday. She got to come home from the hospital this afternoon, and is doing really well. The procedure really didn't take all that long, and was not nearly as scary as I'd imagined it'd be. So things are good there.

Josh is still at work, and I have no idea when he'll finally get home tonight. He was only 3 hours short of a 40 hour week by yesterday. It's not good at all.

And on a completely random note, something that only sp23 will care about...  We're finally getting our $4 million! :)

I want to make more of an effort, I really do. And hopefully I'll be able to. At least with the commenting if not with the posting.

A couple of weekends ago we went over to DC to visit Josh's sister and go to the cherry blossom festival. It was supposed to rain all weekend, but we lucked out with gorgeous weather on Saturday. We spent the whole day walking around and taking pictures of the pretty blossoms. Hopefully I'll get around to posting some soon. :)

And really, I feel weird popping up with birthday greetings seeing as how I haven't made an actual entry since sometime in June. Hopefully that'll change soon because I'd like to be around more, but I feel like I'm always either too busy or too boring to post an actual entry.

I started vacation planning a couple days ago. Josh and I are going to Wilmington again at the end of July. We only got to spend a couple days there last year and there was a lot more we wanted to do, so we're going to spend a week down there this year. It's such a nice little place, and I'm excited to go back!

We're going to be down there on our four year anniversary, so I think we're going to see about doing a private carriage ride. It's kind of a thing with us. Junior prom was our first date and we went on a carriage ride at after-prom.

I like having a day off in the middle of the week. Too bad I only have two more weeks of flextime, and then I go back to my normal schedule. I've been getting a lot done on Wednesdays -- mostly catching up on laundry while watching Ugly Betty. I'm really liking that show. I'm only up to episode 10, I think? And I'm so happy that the laundry room no longer looks like something exploded in there. I think today I may work on some icons, or possibly that vid that I started all those years ago... I have a very bad habit of starting a bunch of projects and then never finishing any of them. Maybe I'll be motivated enough today to do something about that.

Last week at the store, there were these Doritos in a plain, black bag with no flavor identification. There's a contest where you try to name this new flavor of Doritos. I was curious, so Josh and I decided to pick some up. Anyway, I wanted a little snack this afternoon, so I decided to try them. And I cannot figure out what they taste like! It's definitely something familiar, but I just can't figure it out. So if any of you happened to try these weird Doritos, please let me know what they taste like because it's driving me nuts!

It's weird that the series finale of Veronica Mars was last night and my flist is relatively quiet. Sad how the little show that started out so good went so far downhill. ( My thoughts )

I am sad to see the show go, mostly because it feels like I'll have nothing to watch next season.

I haven't been around much lately for reasons that I may or may not decide to talk about. I'm still trying to read and keep up with you guys, so just know that even if I'm not commenting much, I do still care.

I started a new schedule last week. Four long days with Wednesdays off. I'm still not sure how it's going to work out. I definitely like that I don't have to be at work today, but I feel like there are a zillion things around the house that I should be doing. But then if I do them, it's not really like a day off. I'm trying to balance it out by doing productive stuff and fun stuff. (As I'm posting, I have a load of laundry in the washer.) We'll see how that works out.

I want to use my off time to do things that once upon a time I had fun doing. Like making icons again. And I have that Spuffy vid that I started forever ago. Seriously, like Summer of Spike 2. That's how long ago. I don't know if I ever mentioned it here that I was working on that. Or if I did, I'm sure you all have forgotten about it by now. But it's something I really want to finish, even if it's just for me. And hopefully by talking about it, I'll push myself to actually work on it.

Josh is coming home tonight. Yay!

We're only working half days tomorrow because we're driving to Philly so that we can see Common Rotation on Saturday. I should be more excited about it because I'm sure it'll be a fun trip, but it's just been such a loooong week. And I am so tired. And I feel bad because Josh is driving 6 hours tonight and then it's another 6 hours to Philly tomorrow. (It's really amazing just how many places are 6 hours from where we live.) I should be packing, but I don't really feel like it, and I have no clue what I even want to pack. Guess I should check the weather to see what kind of clothing I'll need. Really, I just wanna curl up on the couch and veg for a while.

And I Feel: exhausted

So, Josh is gone on yet another business trip. Sad how those are the only times I seem to find time to post, huh? I've been trying to keep busy this afternoon/evening by doing tons of laundry and cleaning, and I even made muffins. And now I'm wasting some time with a couple of memes.

I always feel weird posting when I haven't posted in ages. Which pretty much means that I feel weird any time I make a post because they're so sporadic. I'm trying to get over it. :)

Anyway, so it's Friday night and I'm hanging out here by myself because Josh is still at work. He's been working such crazy hours lately because his company has a gazillion huge projects going on at the same time and only a handful of employees to work on those projects. It's just an all around bad situation. I'm trying really hard not to be so bitter about it because it's not Josh's fault and I know he's just as upset about it.

Thought I'd do some laundry since we're so behind that it looks like something exploded in our laundry room. But the washing machine was not so cooperative. Apparently it's feeling a bit unbalanced because it decided to work itself halfway across the room while I had a load in on the handwash cycle. I don't wanna imagine what would have happened during a regular cycle... So, laundry's out.

I can't even really watch TV because something has gone wrong with our cable card that we just got put in a couple weeks ago. The regular channels won't even work. Since we have a splitter hooked up, I can still watch TV through the VCR, but TV watching is just not the same without my pretty little on-screen guide. Maybe I'll put in a movie or something.
